In 2024, Buenos Aires will be positioned as the nucleus of innovation in health simulation, hosting the International Congress on Health Simulation and the II International Symposium on Health Simulation Operations from 30 May to 1 June.

This event, organised by the prestigious Garrahan Foundation and led by Mg. Eliana Escudero Zúñiga and Lic. CHSE Nadir Ayrad, promises to be a revolutionary platform for the advancement and dissemination of practices and knowledge in simulation in health, both regionally and globally.

With the strategic partnership of leading societies such as INACSL, the RIG LATAM of INACSL, SESAM, ASPE, and SimGHOSTS, and the sponsorship of organisations such as SASIM, SOCHISIM, SOMESICS, and FLASIC, this congress stands out for its commitment to educational excellence in healthcare simulation. The event programme includes seven keynote lectures by world leaders such as Pier Luigi Ingrassia from SESAM and Crystal Murillo from INACSL, who will share their valuable experiences and perspectives on collaboration between Latin America and Europe and best practice standards in healthcare simulation, respectively. Also, convinced that simulation is necessarily done as a team, the congress will offer more than 20 educational sessions including hands-on and immersive workshops, poster sessions and round tables that foster collaboration, excellence in practice and research.

Core Themes

Thematic axes range from the Fundamentals of Simulation in Healthcare, Best Practice Standards, their Application, Ethics and Evaluation, The Universe of Simulation Operations in Healthcare, Expanding Modalities such as Simulated Patient,AI, VR/AR, Serious/Escape Games, Research and Development, to The Impact of Simulation-Based Education with a focus on the patient, their context and the healthcare professional.

Programme Focus and Special Participation

The event will address fundamental topics such as the fundamentals of simulation in healthcare, best practice standards and simulation operations, with a special Symposium dedicated to simulation operations in healthcare, presenting a unique opportunity to delve deeper into these crucial areas. Experts contributing their knowledge to the operations symposium will include Nick Brauer, Scott Crawford, Benjamin Stobbe and Jacqueline McBride from SimGHOSTS.

We would especially like to thank SIMZINE for joining as Media Partner of this event and for offering a workshop on how to conduct non-scientific publications in healthcare simulation, which represents a valuable contribution to the enrichment of the programme and the learning of the participants.

Open Invitation

Although the calls for workshops and round tables are now closed, we still encourage professionals and academics interested in simulation in healthcare to submit their poster abstracts until 12 April. This conference is an invitation to clinicians, educators, technicians, administrators and health simulation enthusiasts to share, learn and collaborate in a unique space.
