On the 21st of April in Rome CFM is organising the third edition of the comprehensive course on airway management in out-of-hospital and in-hospital emergencies, in helicopter rescue, and in adult and paediatric patients.
Airway management in emergencies, inside and outside the hospital, can be a considerable challenge. The difficult reconstruction of clinical history and anamnestic collection, the pressure of the time factor, the frequent limited availability of resources are factors that increase the operational difficulties in this ‘front-line’ scenario and make it unique and extraordinary.
Every emergency-urgency operator, in the course of their experience, retain in their memory circumstances and episodes in which particularly difficult airway management required maximum commitment and concentration and put them to the test.
On 21 April a theoretical-practical course on ‘Airway management in extra- and intra-hospital emergencies‘ will be held at the Centro Congressi Auditorium della Tecnica in Rome.
The course, organised by Dr. Fausto D’Agostino, will be attended by scientific leaders Dr. Costantino Buonopane and Dr. Pierfrancesco Fusco , and by distinguished speakers who will present a comprehensive view of the problem. The faculty is composed of: Carmine Della Vella, Piero De Donno, Stefano Ianni, Giacomo Monaco, Maria Vittoria Pesce, Paolo Petrosino.
The course clearly addresses the main issues concerning airway management in the specific context of emergency-urgency, with reference to updated international guidelines, description of the techniques and devices used and analysis of the main operational scenarios.
The event is addressed to physicians, nurses and health professionals working in emergency-urgency in extra and intra-hospital settings. During the training day, new technologies and devices in the field of airway management will be illustrated, with the possibility of using them on latest-generation manikins and simulators.
The hope is that trainees will be left with not only the knowledge, but also the passion, determination and enthusiasm without which this job cannot be done: that of saving lives that would otherwise be lost.
